The new era of Marketing


I have watched with great interest the digital transformation that is taking place in the world today. The explosion of Social Media, Smart Phones, and e-Commerce has forged a new era in Marketing.

The digital transformation is as much opportunistic to organizations as much as it is a challenge. The corporate world is at times battling to come to terms with how to exploit this new frontier in customer and employee engagement. Driven by Web 2.0 technology, the arrival of Social Media in the form of Face Book, Utube, LinkedIn, and Google etc have shifted the consumer’s brand touch points. This shift is challenging the traditional Marketing communication streams. In fact, there is credible research findings that in certain industries spending on online media advertising has already surpassed traditional media advertising spend.
